Introduction
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) It’s been said that this portion of Scripture is known as ‘The Heart of the Gospel.’ It’s the verse that has been heard across the world. In fact, it is the most important message in the world. It’s about the Son of God (Jesus) who came to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10) Jesus himself would instruct his disciples to spread this same message by going into all the world and preaching the gospel. (Mark 16:15) In I Timothy 1:15, the Bible says, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” He came to save us from an eternal Hell so that we might spend eternity with Him in a placed called Heaven.

May I ask, do you know for sure if Heaven will be your home? Have you ever accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour? If your answer is no or if you’re not sure, the Bible is very clear on what we, as an individual, must do in order to go to Heaven. In I John 5:13, the Bible says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

First, realize that God loves you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Jesus came so that He might provide salvation to the whole world, including you! He came because He loved us, despite our sin.

Second, realize that everyone is a sinner.
The Bible says, “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) We are an imperfect people, being loved by a perfect God. No matter how hard we try, we will always fall short of the perfection of God.

Third, realize that sin has a price that must be paid.
For the wages [payment] of sin is death… (Romans 6:23a) The Bible describes this death as the second [spiritual] death, the lake of fire – eternal separation from God. In Revelations 20:14-15, the Bible says, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” The wonderful part about Romans 6:23, which we read a moment ago, is that it doesn’t stop there. …but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23b)

Fourth, realize that Christ died to pay your debt.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth [proved] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life; therefore, He was able to be the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. God the father, took all of our sins, and placed them on Jesus when He died for us on the Cross. The Bible says, in II Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Finally, ask Jesus to be your Saviour, and claim His promise of eternal life.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) Prayer does not save, but prayer is the avenue of communication to a Holy God. The Bible says, in Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Salvation is God’s gift to us. All we must do, by faith, is trust in the saving power of God’s grace. We must believe that we are sinners, in need of a Saviour; that we owe a debt that Christ paid, by shedding His blood on the Cross. We must trust in Him and Him alone, in order to be saved. Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Why not secure your eternity, right now, by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour?

You might want to pray something like this…
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and that I deserve to spend an eternity in Hell because of my sin. But I believe You died for me, and paid my debt, so that I could spend eternity with You in a place called Heaven. I am now placing my faith and trust in You. Please, forgive me of my sins and save my soul. Thank you for saving me and adopting me into the family of God. Amen.”
